OLENA SOSEDKA - CO-FOUNDER OF THE CHARITY EXCHANGE "DOBRODIY" - INITIATED AN AWARD IN HONOR OF SERHIY STOLBTSOV, A TEACHER WHO DIED AT WAR

On May 6, a ceremony was held in Dnipro to honor the laureates of the award named after teacher Serhiy Stolbtsov. Cash prizes from UAH 2,500 to UAH 3,700 were awarded to the 38 best students of the Dnipro Lyceum of Information Technologies, who became winners and prize-winners of the all-Ukrainian and regional Olympiads and the regional stage of the all-Ukrainian Small National Academy of Sciences competition in various school disciplines, as well as 35 teachers who had the greatest professional success during the academic year.

The award was initiated by Olena Sosedka, co-founder of Concord Fintech Solutions, the first open fintech ecosystem in Ukraine. The financing of the project was undertaken by Concord Bank, and the Charity Exchange "DobroDiy" acted as the operating fund.

Serhiy Stolbtsov, a geography teacher at LIT, an expert of the regional Center for Education Quality Assessment, died on September 28, 2022 in a battle with russian invaders in the Donetsk region. Serhiy Volodymyrovych joined the ranks of the Armed Forces at the beginning of the full-scale invasion and was a platoon commander. For the students of the lyceum, he was a beloved teacher, a wise mentor, an authority, a thought leader, a model of humanity and a true friend.

Awarding students and teachers with the prize named after S. Stolbtsov became the first link in a special educational program, which is established to support talented students and provide additional opportunities for further education and future employment in Ukraine.
