MARCH, 3 IS THE WORLD HEARING DAY
International Ear and Hearing Day is celebrated on March 3. Its main goal is to draw the public's attention to diseases of the human auditory system and their prevention.
According to WHO data, today in the world there is one child with a pronounced degree of hearing loss for every 1,000 newborns with normal hearing, and up to 2% of newborns have mild and moderate hearing impairment.
Deafness in children of prelingual age leads to a delay in the development of language skills, intelligence and personality. Hearing loss worsens the quality of life, and can even lead to the exclusion of a person from society.
Early detection of congenital or acquired deafness is extremely important. A timely and correct diagnosis provides an opportunity for more successful integration of the child into the language environment.
Diagnosis of hearing impairment includes audiometric screening and provides the opportunity for timely correction - hearing prosthesis. Timely and properly selected hearing aids can fundamentally improve the quality of life for at least 90% of children with hearing impairment.
The device consists of the "Eclipse" medical computer platform with EP15 and DPOAE20 modules, which allows diagnosing hearing impairment even in premature babies. Thanks to this, the chances of a full recovery for young patients have increased significantly.
The wards who need hearing aids are also not left out of our attention. Now on our website, targeted fundraisers for the purchase of hearing aids are open for:
- 16-year-old Viktor Sementovsky https://248.dp.ua/projects/1505;
- 17-year-old Dmitry Dmitriev https://248.dp.ua/projects/1531;
- 8-year-old Liza Podvoikina https://248.dp.ua/projects/1571.
You can read the children's stories and support them via the links. We urge you to help our young wards to hear the world around them again, because their future and realization in society largely depends on this!
