14 NOVEMBER - WORLD DIABETES DAY

In Ukraine, diabetes ranks third in prevalence after cardiovascular and oncological diseases. Over the past decade, the number of people with diabetes has increased by one and a half times, both in Ukraine and worldwide. Therefore, the educational function of World Diabetes Day is extremely important in our time.
Among the young patients of the Charity Exchange "DobroDiy" are children and teenagers who have been living with a severe form of diabetes since childhood. One of them is 11-year-old Svyatoslav Piskunov. And his life is a constant, heightened concern for his health, because even a piece of candy can become a risk, and a small wound can become a serious problem.
Type 1 diabetes is a serious condition that, if left unchecked, can lead to heart complications, and damage to the kidneys, eyes, and nervous system. Svyatoslav needs frequent blood glucose checks, and that means a lot of finger pricks every day.
But there is a way to make Svyatoslav's life much easier - the advanced Freestyle Libre 2 sensor. It sends glucose results directly to the smartphone application, eliminating the need for constant, painful testing.
Svyatoslav is a gifted young man with a big dream of becoming a programmer. He loves computers, loves animals and, like all children, wants to do the things he loves without restrictions. But he needs a chance for a safe life. You can support Svyatoslav through this link: https://248.dp.ua/projects/1667#pay
May today's World Diabetes Day remind us all that we can change someone's life for the better. Give Svyatoslav a chance to live without pain and fear, and allow him to focus on his dreams, not fighting the disease. Every contribution is a step towards a healthy and fulfilling childhood for Svyatoslav!
A rehabilitation program for 21 severely ill children was successfully held in September: a victory of hope over despair.
