PATIENT REPRESENTATIVE PROJECT LAUNCHED IN DNIPRO! "DOBRODIY" HELPS CITIZENS LEARN MORE ABOUT THEIR RIGHTS IN HEALTHCARE

"Patient Representative" is a nationwide initiative implemented by the National Health Service of Ukraine in partnership with the "Chesno" movement. It is supported by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and the World Bank of Ukraine and co-funded by the Embassy of Switzerland in Ukraine.

The project aims to raise citizens' awareness of their rights to health care, improve the quality of medical services, and make the health care system more accessible and transparent. The team that developed the project researched patients' most common requests for information support.

Where will the initiative take place?

The project works in different cities of Ukraine, and this time it starts in Dnipro! The coordinator of the ambassadors' work in our city is the Charity Exchange "DobroDiy".

What will the patient representatives do?

• They will conduct surveys among patients about their experience of receiving medical services.
• They will advise on free medical services provided under the Medical Guarantee Programme.
• They will analyze the information received and prepare reports with recommendations on improving the quality of medical care.

When will the patient ambassadors work in Dnipro?

From 17 February to 14 March, the ambassadors will provide information to patients in two medical institutions in the city:

• "Clinic "Batumska, 13" - Municipal Clinical Hospital No. 6
• Outpatient clinic - "Dnipropetrovsk regional clinical hospital named after I.I. Mechnikov".

The healthcare system should work for people. "Patient Representative is a project that gives a voice to those who face challenges in healthcare institutions every day. Thanks to patient feedback, the quality of services can be improved and made more accessible and convenient.
