WORLD IMMUNIZATION WEEK: VACCINES CAN SAVE LIVES!

The last week of April is World Immunization Week. The WHO initiated this new tradition, and Ukraine joined in 2005. During this week, medical and public organizations in Ukraine and around the world are conducting social and educational initiatives. These events aim to raise awareness of the collective action needed to protect people from diseases that can be prevented by vaccination.

The goal of World Immunization Week is to ensure that more children and adults are protected from vaccine-preventable diseases, allowing them to lead happy and healthy lives. Official statistics show that vaccines against measles, diphtheria, rubella, whooping cough, and other common diseases save approximately 3 million lives each year.

According to public health centers in various regions of Ukraine, the volume of regular vaccinations against infectious diseases has returned to pre-war levels over the past year. However, this vaccination rate remains insufficient to establish collective immunity against certain diseases. The most vulnerable to infectious diseases are unvaccinated children!

This spring is an excellent time to learn more about vaccinations for you, your children, and your family! Ask your doctor about your family's specific immunization schedule and the availability of vaccines that are suitable for you. Vaccination for all is achievable, but it requires your active participation.

Remember, the health of the nation depends on everyone taking responsibility for their health!
