September 13 — World First Aid Day

Today, the civilized world celebrates World First Aid Day. For Ukraine, a country that has been experiencing a long-standing state of war, this day unfortunately carries more than just symbolic or informational significance. The new reality requires citizens to adapt: everyone in Ukraine should have at least basic first aid knowledge.
However, first aid is not just for the military on the front line. It is about all of us. It involves children who might choke on food or toys. It also concerns elderly people who suddenly have a stroke or heart attack. It is about everyday situations where correctly applying a tourniquet or performing basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation can be the difference between life and death.
Our children also need to learn the basics: how to call for help, where to call, and what to do if someone nearby faints. This culture of responsibility must be instilled early on. In wartime, this knowledge becomes critical. Shelling, road accidents, and accidental injuries are real situations where first aid can be vital.
If you're from Dnipro, we recommend taking the UniSafe first aid courses. Thanks to these courses, almost the entire “DobroDiy” team has sharpened its skills, and now, in an emergency, it won't get overwhelmed. Today is the perfect day to take action. Enroll in the courses and always keep a basic first aid kit with a tourniquet, gloves, and a mask for artificial respiration. After all, quick action can save a life!
A rehabilitation program for 21 severely ill children was successfully held in September: a victory of hope over despair.
