15-YEAR-OLD YAROSLAV WITH CP AND EPILEPSY ASK FOR HELP!
Yaroslav Makarenko is 15. He loves music and dreams of a career as a DJ. But from a young age he is forced to fight for life and health. At an early age, the boy first had epileptic seizures that were impossible to control.
Constant selection of drugs - both in monotherapy and in combination with 2-3 anticonvulsants - did not work, and EEG video always showed the presence of epileptic seizures.
In addition to treating epilepsy, Yaroslav was constantly engaged in physical rehabilitation, because the boy also has cerebral palsy. During his teen age, the character of the court changed, and it became difficult for Yaroslav to keep his balance and he received numerous injuries due to falls.
In December 2020, Yaroslav underwent one of the most difficult operations in epilepsy surgery - hemispherectomy. This is the detachment of the left hemisphere. The operation lasted 14 hours! The postoperative period was difficult, but the result was worth it.
Unfortunately, after the operation, paresis increased, especially in the right arm. This was a predictable consequence. Therefore, now the main goal of rehabilitation of a young patient is to restore and maintain physical condition.
Yaroslav constantly trains and deals with rehabilitation specialists. But courses in specialized institutions are very expensive. That is why the Makarenko family turns to all those who care for help! A 15-year-old teenager wants to move freely and live a happy life! With your support he will have a chance!
