10-YEAR-OLD IVAN WITH A HEARING DEFECT DREAMS OF HAVING NEW FRIENDS. HELP THE CHILD!
Vanya Kurylo was born prematurely with a weight of 1,300 g. During childbirth, his heart stopped, hemorrhaging occurred in the brain. The baby was resuscitated. And after 2 months of being in the pressure chamber, the baby and his mother were discharged home.
At the age of 3, parents and a kindergarten teacher noticed that Vanya was hard of hearing. The boy did not speak. The family consulted many doctors in different cities, and in the end, Vanya was diagnosed with bilateral sensorineural hearing loss of the II-III degree.
Doctors advised the boy to use hearing aids. With their acquisition, Vanya's childhood played with new bright sounds. The child began to work with a speech therapist and a hearing specialist, learned to pronounce the first words and sentences. Now these devices are outdated, Vanya does not distinguish hissing sounds in them, and therefore, he is unable to pronounce them. Because of this, his speech suffers, which makes communication and learning difficult.
Ivan is a sociable and kind boy. He likes to fantasize and play with Lego. The boy misses his friends from his hometown of Chasiv Yar, which the family was forced to leave as a result of the war. He has not yet found any friends in Dnipro. All his communication with his peers takes place online: with his cousins and in remote classes at his native school.
In order to make new friends, learn and grow fully, Ivan needs new hearing aids. Their cost is unaffordable for the family of forced migrants from the Donetsk region. Please support Vanya and his family! Give the boy a chance for a healthy childhood, full of colorful sounds!
