8-YEAR-OLD ARTEM WITH CNS INJURY NEEDS HELP!
Artem Balakhonov was born prematurely, at 29 weeks, with a critically low weight of 1200 g. Already at the time of discharge, the child had a number of serious diagnoses, including CNS lesions, early neonatal sepsis, secondary cardiomyopathy and many others.
At the age of 9 months, Artem began classes with rehabilitation specialists: speech pathologist, speech therapist, psychologist, massage therapist. Regular classes help the boy develop faster and overcome the consequences of serious diagnoses.
Artem was later diagnosed with a hearing impairment. In 2019, he was fitted with cochlear implants. Now the boy is 8 years old. He is positive and cheerful, loves to communicate with other children, and learns letters and numbers. Classes with specialists help Artem catch up with his peers in development.
The boy's mother asks everyone who cares to support her son in his struggle for a fulfilling life. Rehabilitation courses are very expensive. And one missed course will mean a step back in the planned development of the child.
