A 10-YEAR-OLD ROMAN WITH A HEARING IMPAIRMENT IS PASSIONATE ABOUT AIKIDO AND BASKETBALL. THE BOY NEEDS HEARING AIDS!
Immediately after birth, little Roma Podtiosov spent the first few days of his life in intensive care, and the next 5 years in hospitals. The boy had problems with his lungs and bronchus since birth.
At the age of 3.5, Roma started attending kindergarten, where the child's impaired perception of spoken speech was first noticed. According to the referrals from the doctor, the family underwent all the necessary examinations, which revealed that Roman had a difficult diagnosis - a delay in psycho-speech development as a result of bilateral sensorineural hearing loss of the III-IV degree. According to doctors, the process of hearing loss is irreversible, but now the main thing is to ensure that the condition does not worsen.
Roman is an active and mobile boy. He used to be fond of sports dancing, and now enjoys aikido and basketball. The boy has many friends, he is sociable and happily communicates with both peers and adults.
Currently, Roma needs modern high-power hearing aids. Their cost is unaffordable for a family raising two young children. While the children's father defends Ukraine, the family appeals for help to all who care.
