HELP 8-YEAR-OLD MARIA WITH CP AND HEARING IMPAIRMENT TO TAKE THE FIRST INDEPENDENT STEPS!
Maria Levchuk was born on the 26th week with a weight of 840 g. For almost six months, the baby, connected to a ventilator, was in the intensive care unit. This time is difficult for Maria's parents to remember. "My heart was breaking into pieces. Despair," - the girl's mother says about what she felt during that period. The girl spent 2 weeks in the intensive care unit for babies. Six months have passed at home, and the family has begun a long and thorny path of treatment and recovery.
At the age of 1, Maria was diagnosed with cerebral palsy, spastic tetraparesis, and bilateral sensorineural deafness. However, the doctors all agreed that the girl is promising, and she has every chance to overcome the consequences of pathologies, provided she attends regular rehabilitation classes.
So Maria worked with specialists at home, visited a massage therapist, a speech and language therapist. And at the age of one and a half, she started using hearing aids and finally heard the voices of her relatives. Maria's condition improved: she became a more independent, communicative girl.
In 2019, the child underwent surgery: cochlear implants were installed. The girl continued classes with a speech therapist, so she became even better at talking and hearing spoken speech.
Maria studies in the first grade, she is a very cheerful, communicative, smiling girl. She loves pets, especially dogs and horses. He enjoys drawing and riding a specialized bicycle with back support. She really wants to learn to walk and enjoy life.
Unfortunately, a few years ago, the family suffered a great tragedy - Maria's father died of a heart attack. Since then, the mother had to take care of her daughter's health on her own.
In August of this year, the girl underwent another surgery - achilleplasty of both lower limbs to form the ability to walk with support on the foot. The child was wrapped in plaster for 4 weeks. Now that the cast has been removed, the issue of high-quality, intensive, long-term rehabilitation has become acute. Otherwise, all efforts will be in vain.
In January, Maria is already waiting for the planned course of classes. Please help her mother pay for medical services!
