HELP A 6-YEAR-OLD ROMAN WITH MENTAL RETARDATION LEARN TO SPEAK!
Roma Lutsenko was born a little earlier than the specified term. At birth, his weight was only 2,200 g. When the baby began to gain weight, he and his mother were discharged home from the hospital. Happy parents plunged into caring for the baby.
Little Roma was developing with a delay, but the family considered this to be normal for a premature baby. However, when at the age of 3 the child said only one word "mom", did not pay attention, and the only entertainment for Roma was spreading books on the shelf, the boy’s parents sounded the alarm.
Then the Lutsenkos turned to a neurologist for the first time. Specialists diagnosed Roma with hyperactivity. Together with the doctor, the parents came to the conclusion that it is necessary to develop the boy both with the help of medicines and involving a psychologist and a speech therapist.
Last year, Roma regularly visited the rehabilitation center — he worked with specialists 4 times a year. The classes gave positive results: the boy began to respond better to spoken language, make contact, became more restrained and disciplined. He also began to use a finger pointing gesture.
"Once a week, Roma works with a speech therapist at his place of residence, but, unfortunately, this is not enough for his development. Now our son is 6 years old, and we understand that he will definitely not go to school with his peers, but we are doing everything possible for Roma to start talking as soon as possible.
Therefore, we are asking for help with paying for the rehabilitation course at the Saint John's Center. After such a powerful training as there, Roma acquires and consolidates many new skills," - Christina, the boy's mother, asks for support.
