URGENT FUNDRAISING FOR 7-YEAR-OLD MARIA WITH EPILEPSY! THE GIRL IS IN ICU AND NEEDS EXPENSIVE MEDICAL TESTS!
From the first days, Maria Shabatina was restless. At the age of 8 months, the child began to have convulsions, which were repeated many times - sometimes up to a 100 times a day. The girl stopped responding to toys and did not make any sounds. It took a lot of precious time to find the cause of this condition and establish a diagnosis.
When Mariyka turned 1 year old, she was prescribed hormone therapy. This made it possible to stop the painful convulsions. But almost 2 years later, the epilepsy returned. Then the girl underwent a detailed examination, which helped to reveal two genetic defects. Doctors prescribed the child a keto diet.
For about 3 years, Maria has been eating according to the recommendations of doctors, and all this time she has been taking essential medicines. The results of therapy are mostly positive. Mariyka has learned the alphabet, figures, counts to 5, listens carefully as her mother reads books to her. The girl's memory has noticeably improved.
Today, the child goes to school and happily communicates with her peers and classmates. Due to complex diagnoses, it is difficult for Mariyka to study: she gets tired quickly, her emotional state often changes. Unfortunately, in 2022, she had a relapse of epilepsy, and her health deteriorated.
Currently, the child needs an urgent test at the clinic, first of all, an electroencephalogram, no sleep. Such a study is more informative than the one that is conducted during vigilance. According to its results, the neurologist will be able to clarify the diagnosis, evaluate the effectiveness of the treatment of the existing pathology and adjust the therapy.
The preliminary examination was scheduled for June, but this week the girl's condition became critical - the child is currently in intensive care. EEG must be done on April 26! Time is running out for fundraising! But without this examination, it will be impossible to prescribe effective treatment for the girl.
