5-YEAR-OLD KAROLINA WITH CP FIGHTS FOR A HEALTHY CHILDHOOD! SUPPORT THE GIRL!
When Karolina Melnychuk was just 1 month old, she contracted meningitis. Karolina had to endure a long time in intensive care on a ventilator. For the first 4 months, the girl fought with all her strength for her own life.
The meningitis led to other diagnoses: bilateral pneumonia, sepsis, hydrocephalus, kidney damage. In the end, Karolina was discharged home in satisfactory condition. Unfortunately, the hydrocephalus progressed. The child had some developmental delay. Over time, doctors diagnosed Karolina with cerebral palsy.
At the age of 7 months, Karolina completed her first rehabilitation course. But later, when she was almost 2 years old, the girl had a relapse of epileptic seizures. The little patient was admitted to the intensive care unit with seizures. There, Karolina underwent a complex operation on her brain.
Unfortunately, the seizures didn't stop, and the child had to return to the hospital from time to time. For a long time, doctors were unable to find an effective treatment. The Melnychuk family even turned to specialists in Turkey. Unfortunately, even foreign doctors could not help.
Finally, when Karolina was 4 years old, the hormone therapy prescribed by the doctors had a positive effect on her well-being. The child's condition improved and she began to speak. In March this year, Karolina was examined in Transcarpathia. There, the girl's therapy was adjusted, which made it possible to reduce seizures and accelerate her development. And in Kyiv, the child underwent eye surgery.
Karolina is a sweet, gentle child. She likes to ride her bike and play with animals. She wants to make friends with other children, but her peers do not understand her because she does not speak well and is hyperactive.
Her parents are doing everything they can to get their daughter back on her feet. Karolina is under the constant supervision of neurosurgeons, neuropathologists and an epileptologist. She now works regularly with a teacher. However, the family does not have enough money for all the necessary activities. Please support Karolina! Already in August, she is expected to attend classes with rehabilitation specialists.
