14-YEAR-OLD AUTISTIC ARTEM HAD A TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE IN HIS HOME REGION OF KHERSON AND NEEDS REHABILITATION!
Artem Kondratiev was born after a complicated delivery. He spent the first few years of his life developing normally. But the boy did not begin to speak until he was 3. At the same time, his mother noticed that her son's behavior was different from that of his peers. He made incomprehensible loud noises, waved his hands, and covered his ears when it was loud.
"I contacted a pediatric neurologist at the Kherson Regional Hospital. He prescribed treatment and diagnosed psychomotor developmental delay. After several months of treatment, Artem began to talk a lot and was incomprehensible, but over time he was able to pronounce all sounds clearly.
However, his behavior was still alarming," says the boy's mother, Tetiana. "Thanks to my repeated insistence, my son and I were sent to the regional psychiatric hospital, where Artem was diagnosed with early childhood autism at the age of 5 and given a handicap".
When Russian troops occupied the Kondratievs' hometown of Nova Kakhovka, Artem was in 5th grade. The presence of military equipment and armed occupiers, as well as explosions in the town, could not fail to affect the child. The family was forced to leave their home.
Now Artem has finished 7th grade with excellent grades. His favorite subjects are English and computer science. The boy is very kind, gentle, especially empathetic and sensitive to the experiences of other children. He is positive, and cheerful, and loves horses, swimming, and diving in the river.
Artem likes to invent and build with Lego. He is interested in the biographies of famous people, recites poems clearly from memory, and still believes in St Nicholas. Unfortunately, he has no friends...
In order to become more socialized, Artem needs classes with specialists. It is difficult for a mother raising her son alone to pay for the necessary courses for her son. Please help her get her baby back on his feet!
