3-YEAR-OLD ARTEM WITH DIFFICULT DIAGNOSES HAS STRUGGLED TO MAKE LIFE CHOICES AND NOW NEEDS HELP!
Artem Fedko is a long-awaited and treasured child. He was born at 25 weeks gestation and weighed just 900g! Sadly, Artem's brother Zakhar, who was born weighing 700 grams, died of a lung hemorrhage on the 3rd day of his life. Artem chose this life.
After long months of struggle within the walls of the hospital, the family was discharged home. But the long and thorny road to health was just beginning. At the age of 9 months, Artyom was diagnosed with cerebral palsy, spastic diplegia. He could not hold his head and had reduced muscle tone.
After treatment at the OKHMATDYT clinic, where the boy was fitted with a gastrostomy tube, Artem was finally able to start rehabilitation classes. The results over the past year have been pleasingly impressive.
His mother says: "Artem has learned to crawl, to sit with support and a little independently, to walk with support, to hold his head with confidence, to drink from a straw independently, to eat little by little. The best breakthrough is in language: a year ago my son only said "daddy", now he knows colors, shapes, and the names of all family members and specialists who work with him".
Artem is a smiling and intelligent boy. He likes to play with cars and tractors, he loves pyramids of different complexity. He likes to draw, and open and close things, but most of all he loves to drive with his grandfather.
In order to develop further and overcome the consequences of his congenital pathology, Artem needs systematic lessons with rehabilitation specialists. The next course is scheduled for October. Please help this family on the frontline in Zaporizhzhya to get their son back on his feet!
