12-YEAR-OLD MARYANA DREAMS OF OVERCOMING THE EFFECTS OF CP AND TRAVELLING THE WORLD. GIVE THIS GIRL A CHANCE!
12-year-old Maryana Kushnir was born prematurely. She spent the first eight days of her life in intensive care and the next month and a half in neonatal pathology. The family immediately began caring for their long-awaited daughter when she was discharged.
From an early age, Maryana worked hard to improve her health at home. She regularly visited rehabilitation centers, underwent 5 complex orthopedic surgeries, and was able to go to school in 2019. Now she can walk, but only with the help of her hand.
In June 2023, Maryana underwent another operation at the Sitenko Institute in Kharkiv. The recovery and rehabilitation period was no less difficult and painful. Throughout the year, Maryana worked continuously and persistently to get closer to her dream - to walk confidently and independently, and to lead a happy, fulfilling life.
At school, Maryana studies according to the general program loves English, recites and reads poetry well, likes to draw, and attends computer school. This is how her mother describes her academic success:
"Throughout the school year, in the postoperative period, wherever we were, we had all our notebooks, books, and a tablet with us. Maryana studied at the same level as her classmates, did all her homework, took tests, and passed tests, no matter where she was or how she felt.
Maryana is very communicative, has a good sense of humor, is cheerful, sensitive, gentle, and simultaneously very strong, strong-willed, and persistent. She loves animals and takes care of them with great tenderness.
Among Maryana's many dreams, the most important is to be able to walk, dance, rollerblade, and skate on her own. To achieve this, she has to work regularly with specialists. The long years of struggle have left the family financially exhausted. Maryana's parents are asking for help from everyone who cares!
