Danya Kalyna's birth was complicated. He was born prematurely by cesarean section. He spent more than two weeks in intensive care and on a ventilator. The child had early bacterial sepsis, pneumonia, hypoxic-ischemic CNS damage, and intraventricular hemorrhage...
Unfortunately, all this hurt the baby's health and caused further complications and developmental defects. After being discharged from the hospital, the parents immediately began to take an active interest in their son's health. He received physiotherapy and massages, neuroprotection and sensory integration, locomotors and hypoxia therapy, swimming lessons, and Tomatis therapy.
Despite all these efforts, the diagnosis of cerebral palsy could not be avoided. In March 2022, Danya underwent an operation in Turkey. A selective neurotomy eliminated the spasticity in both legs below the knees. However, the muscles in her buttocks and upper legs remain spastic. Only regular exercise reduces the pain and discomfort.
In October 2022, both of Danya's legs were fitted with casts below the knees to correct the alignment of her feet. The cast was changed weekly to increase the angle. At the time, the desired result of 90 degrees was achieved. Over time, however, the angle gradually returns to its previous state and Danya is forced to stand on her toes.
Danya is now 6 years old. He is due for another orthopedic operation in February. After that, the boy will need rehabilitation to achieve the best results. Danya is a happy and patient child who dreams of learning to stand and walk without support. Please support Danya and his family!
