3-YEAR-OLD SASHKO HAS HYDROCEPHALY, CEREBRAL DISEASE AND EPILEPSY. HE HAD A SHUNT AND COULDN'T SEE AFTER THE OPERATION. HELP THE BOY!
Oleksandr Kosyak was born prematurely, weighing just 650 grams. Immediately after his birth, he was admitted to intensive care, where he spent the next six months. At the time, Sashko's condition was considered extremely serious by doctors. In the first days of his life, he was diagnosed with acquired hydrocephalus, congenital cataracts, and partial atrophy of the optic discs in both eyes.
The boy was also diagnosed with spastic quadriplegia and epileptic syndromes. Sashko required surgery and underwent several shunt insertions and subsequent revisions of the shunt system during the first year of life. In 2023, the shunt was completely removed, but the boy had recurrent seizures and was given a final diagnosis of localized epilepsy.
In December 2024, Sashko underwent further surgery on the lenses of his eyes and is now completely blind. The child needs constant medical care, further medical examinations, comprehensive treatment, and complex rehabilitation. The parents are asking everyone who cares to respond and support the family and the little boy, who continues to fight desperately for his life and health!
