10-YEAR-OLD VICTORIA WITH CP NEEDS REHABILITATION. THE COURSE CAN REDUCE PAIN AND UNCONTROLLED MOVEMENTS. HELP THE GIRL!
Victoria Savchuk was born in the now-occupied town of Makiivka in the Donetsk region. She spent the first month of her life in intensive care. She had high bilirubin levels and perinatal hypoxic encephalopathy.
At the age of 10 months, Victoria was diagnosed with cerebral palsy, double hemiplegia with persistent severe motor impairment, and dyskinetic syndrome. She could not do anything by herself or even hold her head up. Not until she was 2.5 years old did her mother teach Victoria to chew solid food and drink through a straw.
Victoria is now 10 years old. She completed four rehabilitation courses at the Martyniuk Center in Kyiv, 12 at the Hadjibey Sanatorium in Odesa, and 11 at the Kozyavkin International Clinic in Truskavets. As a result, she learned to hold her head up, roll over on her own, fix her gaze, and slide from bed to floor.
Vika has learned to communicate with her family using sounds and syllables, which allows her to answer simple questions. Victoria is a happy child who loves swimming in the pool, music, and her cat, Shutser. Her intelligence is fully intact. She is currently in the second grade of individualized education, loves mathematics, can count up to 100, knows the multiplication table and the alphabet, and can read.
Victoria needs at least four rehabilitation courses a year. The next course aims to reduce muscle tone, hyperkinesis, and uncontrolled movements. Vika's mother hopes that thanks to the treatment, the child will be able to sleep peacefully without pain or crying and learn to sit independently, leaning on her hands. Help this girl and her family!
