2-YEAR-OLD MARIYKA IS STILL FIGHTING FOR HER LIFE! LET'S HELP HER OVERCOME ANOTHER CHALLENGE!
Mariyka Masych was born prematurely, weighing only 1450 g. From the first minutes of her life, she had to fight against a severe pathology. Oesophageal atresia made the girl's life a constant ordeal. Doctors tried to save the little patient, and her family never gave up hope.
In the two years of her life, Mariyka underwent five complex operations, including one on her stomach. Eating through a gastrostomy tube, constant medical procedures, and the need for special enteral nutrition became a daily reality for the child. Every month, her body is tested for recurrent aspiration pneumonia, which has caused serious complications in her lungs.
Recent medical tests have revealed the need for urgent reconstruction of the oesophagus and removal of the affected part of the lung. The child will have to undergo complex surgery, long-term rehabilitation, expensive medication, and a special diet. Mariyka's family are internally displaced people from the Donetsk region and are unable to cope with the financial burden on their own.
Mariyka now weighs 10kg. She spends most of her time at the hospital with her mother. The girl is quiet, but when she arrives, she knows what she will go through—more catheters, a series of tests, and examinations. Tears come to her eyes at the sight of doctors in white coats.
At home, Mariyka loves to use her walker and tries to take her first steps independently, but she still lacks confidence and holds on to her parents' hands. Help this brave girl overcome another test and get back on the road to recovery!

Diagnosis: Acute recurrent community-acquired right-sided polysegmental aspiration pneumonia. Respiratory failure of the first to second degree. Atelectasis of the segments of the upper lobe of the right lung. Acute respiratory failure of type I. Congenital malformation of the tracheobronchial tree of the right lung. Multiple congenital malformations: esophageal atresia, motility disorder syndrome, microgastria, tracheoesophageal fistula, gastroesophageal reflux. Gastrostomy tube carrier.
The project aims to raise UAH 55,000 to provide rehabilitation treatment and purchase necessary medicines and specialized food.
