9-year-old Ivan, who has cerebral palsy, is still unable to walk independently; however, he is making progress and learning new skills. Support this boy!
Ivan Bushmin was born prematurely at 30 weeks, the first of twins in his family. Unfortunately, his sister passed away on the 23rd day of life. Due to congenital conditions, Ivan was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit and spent the next two weeks on a ventilator.
He was then transferred to the neonatal pathology department. There, the boy's parents received a long list of diagnoses: cerebral edema, hypoxia, convulsive syndrome, and pseudocystic periventricular leukomalacia. The severe diagnoses resulted in irreversible processes and motor disorders. Fortunately, the child's intellect remained intact.
Specialists diagnosed Ivan with cerebral palsy, spastic paraparesis, and delayed stato-kinetic development. The boy is nearly 9 years old and has worked diligently with rehabilitation specialists, correctional teachers, and speech therapists. Consistent and timely sessions with specialists yield positive changes.
After the rehabilitation courses, Ivan's spasticity significantly decreased, and his motor skills improved. He has learned to balance for a short time, but he still cannot walk independently. Please support Ivan and help him attend a Rehabilitation and Neurophysiology Centre course!
