Twins Valeria and Denys have cerebral palsy and movement disorders, requiring enhanced rehabilitation. Support the children!
Denys and Valeria Svyatkivski were born prematurely at 28 weeks, spending their first two weeks in the neonatal care unit at Okhmatdyt Hospital. Unfortunately, the challenging birth took its toll: Denys was diagnosed with cerebral palsy at 1.5 years old, and Valeria followed soon after.
The twins are now 14 and have significant movement difficulties. However, they are not falling behind in their development; they are eager to learn and interested in everything new. Doctors consider Denys and Valeria to be promising teenagers, but they need to work regularly and persistently with rehabilitation specialists to continue their development.
In 2014, the children underwent surgery to address spasticity. Following this, Valeria began walking independently, although she still did not bend her knees, while Denys learned to walk with support. In 2022, the children had another complex surgical procedure. Denys gradually started to walk with crutches. Last year, Valeria had plates removed from her knees.
The twins face a challenging recovery ahead. They are very sociable and have many friends. They love bicycles and construction toys. Valeria enjoys doing puzzles and crafting with felt, while Denys prefers carving with wood. Please help the twins access intensive rehabilitation!
