Four-year-old Matviy, who has specific developmental disorders, seeks to adapt and lead a fulfilling life. Support the child!
Matviy Terentyev is the youngest child in his family. He has suffered from organic brain damage since birth. When he was two and a half years old, his parents first became seriously concerned about his condition: he did not speak, make eye contact, point to objects, or respond to speech directed at him.
During this time, his behavior was chaotic, exhibiting signs of self-aggression as well as aggression toward other children. He was unable to feed himself, hold a spoon, or use a toilet. Additionally, he could not dress himself and experienced numerous sensory disorders and fears—specifically, he was afraid of water, bright lights, and unstable surfaces.
Following consultations with a neurologist and six months of observation by a psychiatrist, during which there was no improvement in his condition, Matviy was officially diagnosed with a disability. Since then, he has received ongoing rehabilitation, which includes medication, sessions with a psychologist and speech therapist, exercise therapy, massages, sensory integration, and corrective education.
Thanks to these efforts, positive changes have occurred in Matviy's development. He has learned to make eye contact, eat, and dress himself. Sound imitation has gradually emerged, and sensory difficulties have been partially overcome. Matviy attends kindergarten, which is a crucial stage in his socialization because interacting with others helps him adapt.
Matviy is a very energetic child. Like many children with sensory processing issues, he loves engaging in physical activities and enjoys playing with construction sets, painting, and sculpting with plasticine. He also has a great affection for animals. He has been taking dance classes since the age of three, not just as a hobby, but also to enhance his ability to follow group instructions.
Matviy's family struggles to afford all the essential treatment and rehabilitation for their son, so they reach out to their supporters for assistance. After each rehabilitation course, Matviy shows positive progress. If he continues to attend regularly, Matviy has every chance of adapting and leading a full and happy life. Support the boy!
