Six-year-old Karolka, who has cerebral palsy and epilepsy, wants to make friends with other children. Help her continue developing!
Karolina Melnychuk is a real little superhero. When she was only one month old, she became ill with meningitis. She faced a tough battle with the disease and spent a long time on a ventilator in intensive care. For the first four months, she fought for her life.
Meningitis led to other diagnoses, including bilateral pneumonia, sepsis, hydrocephalus, and kidney damage. Ultimately, Karolina was discharged home in satisfactory condition. Unfortunately, the hydrocephalus progressed. The child experienced developmental delays. Over time, doctors diagnosed her with cerebral palsy.
She is under the constant supervision of neurosurgeons, neurologists, and an epileptologist. Among her other conditions is congenital left-sided hemifacial spasm. Karolina took various anticonvulsants for two years, but they were ineffective. Ultimately, it was determined that she has drug-resistant epilepsy.
Karolina engages with her teachers regularly and has made significant progress thanks to rehabilitation. With each course, the changes in her development and the acquisition of new skills become noticeable. Karolina is a kind and gentle child. She loves animals and riding her bike, and she wants to make friends with other children. However, this is challenging because she struggles with speaking and is hyperactive.
Karolina's life story is impressive, but we know that every superhero needs support. Her parents are doing their best to help her. Unfortunately, the family lacks sufficient funds for all the necessary medical treatments. Please support Karolina on her arduous journey toward a healthy life!
