wo-year-old Nazar has cerebral palsy and developmental disabilities, and he wants to learn to walk independently. Help the boy take his first steps!
Nazar Patenko was born via emergency caesarean section. While in the womb, he did not get enough oxygen. This caused convulsions, and Nazar was in serious condition immediately after birth. He spent the first two weeks of his life in intensive care on a ventilator, followed by a long period in the neonatal pathology department. While there, doctors observed two concerning symptoms: rapid increase in head circumference and decreased muscle tone. He was subsequently referred for treatment in the pediatric neurology department. Unfortunately, even at home, Nazar started to show impairments in fundamental motor skills.
Until he was five months old, Nazar could not hold his head up, but thanks to his mother's efforts, he eventually learned this skill. When he was one year old, Nazar had a brain scan that confirmed white matter damage. At two years old, Nazar attended his first rehabilitation programme, and soon he could sit and crawl independently.
He has now learned to stand and walk with support. His family is doing everything possible to ensure he has regular access to specialists. He is a happy boy who loves animals, cartoons, and ball games. To continue his development, he needs another course of rehabilitation. Support Nazar!
