Six-year-old Damir, who has developmental disabilities, requires a corrective course at the Centre for Rehabilitation and Neurophysiology.
Damir Babintsev was born via caesarean section without complications. However, he developed slowly: he started sitting independently at seven months and walking at one and a half years. Damir had difficulty sleeping, only falling asleep when he was beside his parents, and showed protest behaviour.
When he was two years old, Damir suffered a traumatic brain injury that involved a fracture to the right parietal bone. Over the following four months, he underwent two complex surgeries: one to remove a haematoma and another to install a titanium plate. Unfortunately, the injury also impacted his vision.
When he was three years old, Damir started working with specialists at the Brain Stimulation Centre. However, this did not produce any positive results. After a psychiatric evaluation, Damir's complex diagnoses were confirmed, and he was granted disability status. After a year of rehabilitation and homeschooling, he began to say his first simple words.
Damir now attends a specialized speech therapy kindergarten. He is scheduled to start first grade this year, but he struggles with emotional and volitional immaturity, as evidenced by his lack of a sense of self-preservation, fears, and an inadequate understanding of danger. Nonetheless, Damir excels at counting, swimming, riding a bike, and playing football for a six-year-old.
His dream is to go to the sea and take a dolphin therapy course. He is working to become like his peers. Currently, he needs a remedial course at a rehabilitation and neurophysiology centre. Please support Damir and his family on their arduous journey!
