Eight-year-old Dmytro, who has cerebral palsy and epilepsy, dreams of learning to walk without help. Support the boy with rehabilitation!
Dmytro Shevchenko was born prematurely and suffered a brain hemorrhage. Due to hydrocephalus, doctors predicted that he would not survive. However, Dmytro's parents achieved the impossible: with boundless love, perseverance, and daily rehabilitation, they gave their son a chance to thrive.
Thanks to their efforts and the support of rehabilitation specialists, a speech therapist, and a teacher, Dmytro has learned to speak and read, and is gradually learning to write and count to 20. The boy is now eight years old. He can walk with support and is preparing to start first grade at school in the autumn.
However, because of the damaging effects of cerebral palsy and epilepsy, he still faces serious issues with balance, self-care, and walking on his own. If he stops engaging in his regular physical activities, he might lose the skills he has worked so hard to develop.
Dmytro's family is seeking support to help him continue developing, learn to walk independently, and become more self-sufficient in his everyday life. Any assistance will help him maintain and improve his progress. Please help the child access rehabilitation!
