Twelve-year-old Sofia, who has cerebral palsy, dreams of walking independently. Help her reach a rehabilitation course.
Sofia Bachynska was born after 38 weeks of pregnancy, weighing 2,900 grams. Three weeks after birth, she suddenly started to lose weight, and by eight months old, she was diagnosed with a movement disorder syndrome. Since then, Sofia has undergone regular rehabilitation and home-based classes.
She has received medication and undergone courses of apitherapy and Tomatis therapy. She has also worked with a speech therapist and a psychologist, attended a swimming pool, and undergone massage and exercise therapy. Doctors assured her parents that Sofia would soon start walking, but unfortunately, this did not happen. At the age of two and a half, the child was diagnosed with cerebral palsy.
Sofia is now 12 years old and has completed the fifth grade of inclusive education. School is her favorite place because she not only gains knowledge there but also socializes with her peers. She particularly enjoys design, technology, and drawing lessons. Sofia is sociable, cheerful, and hardworking.
She confidently works every day to take her first independent steps. She has learned to sit up independently, crawl, and move around the rooms on her knees. Due to her diagnosis, she does not speak very clearly, but those around her understand her. She needs regular rehabilitation to help her develop. Support Sofia and her family!
