Thirteen-year-old Ivan, who has atypical autism and struggles with speech and mobility, needs assistance to attend a rehabilitation program!
Ivan Medvid was born after a difficult childbirth by urgent caesarean section. Complications during birth later caused systemic developmental defects in his body. Ivan's current diagnoses include atypical autism, dysarthria, symptomatic focal epilepsy, and dysmorphic syndrome.
Ivan started sitting independently at age one and walking at five. At 13, Ivan still cannot speak and struggles with walking and posture. He cannot walk on uneven surfaces or stairs, cannot eat on his own, and has no speech. He is forced to wear a nappy constantly.
Ivan's parents tirelessly and persistently fight for a normal life for their son, dedicating all their time and resources to consulting specialists and seeking help for him. Ivan attends speech therapy and massage sessions regularly. He is gradually gaining new skills.
The most important and urgent goal for Ivan's family is to help the boy learn to care for himself. To do this, he needs regular rehabilitation classes. Please support Ivan and his family by helping him attend sessions at the rehabilitation and neurophysiology centre!
