Brother and sister Vladyslav and Evelina have serious diagnoses and require rehabilitation. Please help the children!
Vladyslav and Evelina Kalmykov from Kharkiv have been fighting for their lives since birth. Above all, they want to experience some aspects of a normal childhood. They have had disabilities and serious diagnoses since childhood, especially related to developmental disabilities and autism spectrum disorder.
Evelina has a severe form of autism. She cannot care for herself, speak, eat, or dress herself. She has a severe intellectual disability and learning difficulties. At 13 years old, Evelina's cognitive abilities are equivalent to those of a one-year-old.
She experiences severe seizures and may injure herself. She has been on medication her entire life, which is frequently adjusted because none of the drugs recommended by doctors have produced the desired long-term effects.
Vladyslav experienced hypoxia and brain oedema at birth. After an extended stay in the intensive care unit and perinatal centre, it was determined that these complications caused organic damage to the CNS, leading to developmental delay, intellectual disability, and autism.
Intensive rehabilitation is now essential for both children to decrease seizure frequency and enhance behavioral responses. Vladyslav and Evelina's mother is raising the children alone. Assist the children in receiving proper treatment!
