Nine-year-old Semen, who has autism and developmental disabilities, needs increased rehabilitation. Help him become more independent!
Semen Sheremet was born healthy and developed normally until he turned one year old. From an early age, he contracted several serious viral illnesses and later showed troubling neurological symptoms, such as uncontrolled head movements and coordination issues. Semen stopped speaking and smiling, and he also began avoiding contact with others.
Despite numerous medical examinations and consultations with doctors, no serious diagnoses were made, and drug therapy proved ineffective. Semen neither spoke nor understood directed speech, showed no interest in toys, yet exhibited hyperactive behavior. When he was three years old, his parents were told by specialists that he had an autism spectrum disorder.
At the start of the full-scale war in Ukraine, Semen's family was forced to leave their home. He received confirmation of his diagnosis and was granted disability status. His parents are now doing everything they can to ensure he gets proper treatment and rehabilitation. Semen is gradually learning to be independent and has started to respond to directed speech. He needs intensive rehabilitation to continue developing. Please help Semen and his family!
