Fourteen-year-old Roman has a serious developmental disorder of the intestines and requires parenteral and enteral nutrition. Help the boy!
Roman Meshko developed normally until he was one year old, keeping pace with his peers. However, he then began experiencing digestive problems, including abdominal pain, bloating, and bile stasis. He could not eat regular food. His condition gradually worsened, reaching a critical point in the summer of 2015, when he had to undergo urgent, complex surgery.
His general condition was extremely serious, and he spent ten days in intensive care after the operation. According to the doctors, almost all of Roman's small intestine had died. He was transferred to parenteral nutrition via a central vein. This method of nutrition continued after he was discharged from the hospital and returned home. Later, enteral nutrition with special mixtures was also added to his diet.
The boy now receives parenteral nutrition intravenously for ten days each month. These special mixtures include C.A.S.E., Smoflipid, and Sterofundin ISO solutions with electrolytes. The boy also receives Nestlé MODULEN enteral nutrition on a permanent basis. This nutrition is rather expensive, and it is difficult for the family to provide it for their son at their own expense.
He is currently studying remotely in Year 9. He is physically delayed, growing and gaining weight slowly, and has a persistent vitamin D deficiency. Despite this, Roma is a capable boy who studies well and loves history and English lessons. Please support Roma and his family! Help provide him with the minimum he needs to survive and develop!
