Eleven-year-old Polina has autism and developmental delays and struggles to speak. Help the girl receive rehabilitation!
Polina Kamuz is the second child in the family. In 2014, while Polina's mother was pregnant, the war in Ukraine began, and her father enlisted to defend the country. This put the mother in a difficult emotional state, and to prevent complications, doctors insisted on a cesarean section. Polina was born completely healthy, began walking at 9 months, and began talking quite early.
In her early years, she was interested in everything and learned about the world with enthusiasm. Unfortunately, everything changed when Polina began exhibiting the first dangerous symptoms at age two: she stopped talking and smiling, avoided eye contact, became withdrawn, and showed no emotion. The specialists' diagnosis divided the family's life into "before" and "after": autism and delayed psychosocial development.
Polina's subsequent life has included frequent visits to rehabilitation centers and hospitals and lessons with specialists. Polina's hard work, coupled with her parents' perseverance and support, has yielded significant results. She is now in the fourth grade and loves to draw and sculpt animals. Unfortunately, Polina still has difficulty speaking. She is frustrated because she cannot communicate fully with her peers.
When the full-scale Russian military invasion of Ukraine began, Polina's father rejoined the army for a period of time. For Polina, rarely seeing her father became a major source of stress. She began experiencing panic attacks and alalia, as well as a fear of society. Polina's emotional state gradually stabilized only after her father was discharged from service. Now, her focus is on recovery and development.
She really wants to be like the other children around her, to speak freely, play, and learn to perceive the world. Regular classes with specialists at various rehabilitation centers are helping her achieve this. Please support Polina's family and help the girl start living a full life, speaking, learning, and developing!
