Danylo, who has cerebral disorders and developmental delays, will soon be three years old. The boy from an IDP family needs rehabilitation.
Danylo Tsimerman was born after a difficult delivery, weighing 4 kg and measuring 59 cm. Immediately after birth, he had swelling and breathing difficulties. At one month old, his mother noticed he could not hold his head up, so she took him to see a neurologist. The doctor diagnosed CNS damage and muscular dystonia.
Since then, his mother has been fighting for his health. Danylo was recommended massages, swimming, and corrective classes. It was not easy for the IDP family, who lived in a small town, to keep these appointments, but Danylo’s mother persisted and overcame all obstacles. At three months, Danylo began to hold his head up independently, and by nine months, he could sit unaided.
Despite all her efforts, Danylo's development was delayed. He could not stand for long, and later he began to have sleep problems. At one year old, he took his first steps, but his behavior indicated the presence of disorders: he did not respond to his name, ran around the apartment nonstop, did not make the same sounds, and fought and threw tantrums.
A neurologist in Lviv diagnosed Danylo with cerebral dysfunction syndrome and ADHD and referred him to a psychiatrist after prescribing treatment. Specialists at the Veselka clinic confirmed hyperkinetic and speech development disorders. Danylo's central nervous system (CNS) damage is classified as the most severe, at the fifth degree.
At two years old, the boy began to say the word 'mama'. This remains the only word he speaks. Danylo is almost three years old and cannot fall asleep independently. He attends kindergarten for only a few hours a day. His mother raises him alone, and his father helps them from time to time. Danylo now needs further treatment and rehabilitation.
