Serhiy Paltsun has several complex diagnoses, including intellectual disability with severe speech impairment, social maladjustment, and behavioral disorders. Unfortunately, he still cannot speak and can only say the words 'mum' and 'dad'.
Despite being born after a difficult delivery and suffering from hypoxia and jaundice, Serhiy developed well until he was seven months old. However, later, his family noticed that he did not show emotions, did not point things out to them, and did not pay attention to them.
By 1.5, Serhiy did not notice others at all. He did not begin to speak and did not understand speech addressed to him. Numerous examinations indicated that the child had autism. Serhiy began attending neurocorrection classes and working with rehabilitation specialists and speech therapists.
Combined with medication therapy, these interventions began to yield positive results, with improvements in behavior and understanding. Unfortunately, the realities of the full-scale military invasion of Ukraine caused anxiety and stalled his development.
Serhiy is now eight years old and needs to continue attending classes with specialists. The main objective of the rehabilitation program is to transform the boy's irritability, self-aggression, despair, and confusion into opportunities for social interaction.
He is a very gentle, kind-hearted boy. He loves cats, cooking, and helping his parents. The family is now financially exhausted and is therefore turning to anyone who cares for support. Help Serhiy improve his condition and finally say his first words!
