Fourteen-year-old Yehor has severe hearing loss! Help his family buy hearing aids for him!
Yehor has perceived the world differently than others since early childhood. He has been diagnosed with chronic bilateral sensorineural hearing loss of the second degree and chronic bilateral cochleitis. This means that his hearing is significantly impaired, making it difficult for him to perceive speech and sounds in his environment.
His family didn't notice the problem right away. When he was three years old, he hadn't started talking. Several doctors made wrong diagnoses, including assuming he had a learning disability. But later, at a rehabilitation center, after a hearing test and a consultation with a speech and language therapist, his parents discovered the real nature of their son's condition.
To enhance his quality of life and support his development, Yehor received hearing aids and consistently worked with specialists. This yielded positive results. He is now attending a gymnasium in an inclusive education environment. He is a talented chess player and goes to a chess school, having earned a second-degree title.
He is very positive and non-confrontational. His parents and teachers are confident that if he had good sound perception, he would have better prospects for learning and applying skills later in life. Currently, his hearing aids are outdated and no longer work properly. The boy really needs new hearing aids!
