10-year-old Veronika with severe CP can't walk! Help her family buy a special wheelchair!
Veronika Halytska was born at 35 weeks of pregnancy due to a difficult labor. During her birth, she experienced asphyxia. Later, in the neonatal intensive care unit, Veronika was diagnosed with hemolytic disease and high bilirubin levels. The child received a blood transfusion and further treatment in the neonatal pathology department.
Unfortunately, Veronika soon developed motor skills problems. Since then, she has been receiving ongoing medication therapy. Now, at age 10, the girl cannot walk or sit on her own. However, Veronika's family is doing everything they can to ensure she attends rehabilitation sessions and works toward improvement.
Rehabilitation activities and exercises at home are producing positive results: Veronika's hyperkinesis has lessened, and her vision has improved. The girl has started to speak more clearly. She is consistently taking the medication Depakine Chrono and special nutrition Resource Junior for weight gain. Veronika remains hopeful about being able to walk on her own.
Meanwhile, the girl is finishing third grade. She enjoys learning: she can already read syllables, count, shows interest in English, loves music and cartoons. Now Veronika needs a multifunctional wheelchair to improve her posture and feel more comfortable every day. Please support the girl!
