13-year-old Sviatoslav lives with severe diabetes and hypothyroidism. Please help his family purchase sensors to monitor his blood sugar!
At age 10, Svyatoslav Pyskunov first showed clear signs of type 1 diabetes. Most likely, the stress from the ongoing war contributed to this. At Okhmatdyt Hospital, he was diagnosed, given treatment, and advised on diet and blood sugar monitoring.
Today, Svyatoslav's routine involves regular insulin injections, carb counting, and frequent finger pricks to monitor his blood sugar. These procedures are tiring and stressful, but medical technology continues to improve. Doctors recommended installing a sensor that transmits data to a smartphone app.
Because his blood sugar isn't well controlled, the Freestyle Libre 2 device could significantly improve Svyatoslav’s condition by providing 24-hour monitoring. However, the sensor is costly, and his family needs assistance to afford it.
Svyatoslav is a honest and caring boy, always ready to help others and do his duties. He has many friends, loves animals, and enjoys music and computers. He dreams of becoming a programmer someday, creating websites and games. Please support Svyatoslav and his mother, who is raising him alone!
