Lilia Petrenko has been disabled since childhood. The girl bravely and patiently fights the effects of a severe developmental disorder of the central nervous system. At a fairly early age, Lilia's parents noticed that she had difficulty holding her head up. The child started sitting late and did not begin standing and walking on time. After a tomographic exam, doctors told the family that Lilia would never be able to walk on her own...
The girl's parents refused to give up and did everything possible to ensure that Lilia received medication therapy and worked with rehabilitation specialists. The diagnosis sounded terrible: congenital brain malformation, hypoplasia, dyskinetic tetraplegia. Among other disorders: shortened left leg and foot, curvature of the spine, hand tremors, and cervical spine instability.
Classes with rehabilitation specialists showed noticeable results, with gradual small achievements becoming evident—the limb tone decreased, and tremors lessened. Lilia took her first steps at 2 years and 2 months, but persistent motor issues and coordination problems still remain. Over many years of treatment and rehabilitation, Lilia's gait and speech have improved. The most important thing now is to keep going and practice regularly.
To help Lilia gradually reach her full childhood potential, become more independent, and walk with greater confidence, she needs another rehabilitation course. Her family cannot afford this program at the moment, so Lilia's mother is reaching out to everyone who cares to ask for help. Please support this girl, as each new step requires incredible effort!
