17-YEAR-OLD DMYTRO, WITH NUMEROUS SERIOUS DIAGNOSES, CANNOT WALK ON HIS OWN. HELP THE BOY ENTER REHABILITATION!
Dmytro Dudnyk has had a long list of serious diagnoses, practically from the moment of his birth. During childbirth, the child suffered asphyxia, and later in the neonatal pathology department, he struggled with the consequences of an intrauterine infection, which led to brain damage and bilateral pneumonia.
At an early age, Dmytro displayed movement disorders, delayed psychomotor development, and hearing impairment. At 10 months, the boy had his first convulsive epileptic seizures. Throughout this period, he received restorative and stimulating treatment, rehabilitation, and pedagogical correction.
Each skill required extraordinary effort from Dmytro. He began to sit independently at age 5, stand with support at 10, walk with support, and move short distances around the apartment only at age 15. The boy also has significant difficulties with speech, speaking indistinctly and in separate words.
Dmytro is homeschooled through a special program and is now completing 10th grade at a special school remotely. The boy shows interest in learning, although he cannot write or count independently. A great achievement for Dmytro, his family, and teachers is that he learned to read small adapted texts.
Dmytro's serious diagnoses include spastic paraplegia, ataxic syndrome, the consequences of a prior neuroinfection, progressive cerebellar atrophy, structural epilepsy, and hearing impairment. The boy requires ongoing intensive rehabilitation. Please help Dmytro and his family!
