8-YEAR-OLD OLESIA HAS BEEN DIAGNOSED WITH SEVERE MENTAL RETARDATION BUT WANTS TO DEVELOP. HELP HER ENTER REHABILITATION!
Olesia Oliynyk was born with a congenital dislocation of the left joint. One of the girl's legs was 2 cm shorter than the other. At 9 months, after a series of medical examinations, Olesia was found to have a genetic anomaly involving the 5th pair of chromosomes. At age 2, the child underwent surgery to correct her left joint.
After the surgery, Olesia had to learn to walk from the beginning again, but unfortunately, the child's developmental delay greatly slowed this difficult process. The girl consistently worked with rehabilitation specialists, attended massage sessions, and did physical exercises at home. She took her first independent steps only at the age of 4.
At age 4, doctors confirmed Olesia’s diagnosis of severe intellectual disability. The girl’s mother does everything possible to ensure that her daughter receives all the necessary medical services, treatment, rehabilitation, and instruction: neurocorrection, sensory integration, speech therapy, and development of primitive reflexes.
The girl now attends a specialized kindergarten, loves playing with other children, and adores music classes and morning exercises. Olesia is a restless and cheerful kid. However, the child’s hyperactivity is actually hindering her development. Please support Olesia and her family – help the girl get into rehabilitation!
