9-YEAR-OLD YAROSLAV HAS MENTAL, BEHAVIORAL, AND SPEECH DISORDERS. HELP THE CHILD GET ON THE RIGHT TRACK!
Yaroslav Miliev was a long-awaited child. The boy grew up healthy on artificial feeding and developed normally – at 9 months he began to say his first words, at 10 months he could eat with a spoon on his own, and at 1 year he took his first steps. Unfortunately, in 2018, Yaroslav suffered from a serious infectious disease. After recovering from the virus and its complications, Yaroslav's parents and kindergarten teachers noticed that the child seemed to have stopped developing, spoke less, and became noticeably nervous.
Yaroslav worked with speech therapists and neurologists, but in 2022, with the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Russian troops into Ukraine, his mother and the boy were forced to leave for Poland. Later, the family returned to their native Mykolaiv region, but in the front-line territories, it was almost impossible to find specialists and conditions for the child's development. The security situation also did not improve the boy's condition - he is afraid of the noise of the plane and other loud sounds.
Every 3 months, Yaroslav sees a private psychiatrist, visits a speech therapist, and receives treatment. In 2024, he entered the 1st grade of a lyceum, where he studies in an inclusive setting. Yaroslav is now 9 years old. He is socialized, makes friends with children, and has learned to ride a two-wheeled bicycle, but he cannot express his thoughts clearly and is nervous about not being understood. The boy needs regular rehabilitation, physical therapy, and speech therapy sessions.
Among Yaroslav's serious diagnoses are mental disorders due to brain damage or dysfunction, a specific disorder of speech and language development, and disorders of speech articulation and behavior. The cost of classes at the speech correction center the child currently needs is unaffordable for the family. Please support Yaroslav and give him a chance to develop, socialize, and feel a sense of belonging in society!
