11-YEAR-OLD ANTON WITH AUTISM AND DEVELOPMENTAL DISORDERS NEEDS ENHANCED CARE AND NEUROREHABILITATION. SUPPORT THE BOY!
Anton Kozyr is the second, expected, and desired child in the family. He was born naturally, but during the first days of his life he received his first diagnosis – a congenital heart defect, a patent ductus arteriosus. Over the next year, doctors did not diagnose any new developmental disorders in the child. However, after Anton turned 1 year old, his parents began to worry seriously.
The boy did not develop walking skills in time. Even at 1.5 years old, the child did not walk independently, did not pronounce words, and showed no interest in the world around him. At 2 years old, Anton took uncertain steps and had difficulty coordinating movements and maintaining balance. However, he still did not respond to his name, did not use gestures to communicate, avoided eye contact, and was very passive.
From this age, Anton's life became an endless cycle of medical examinations, treatment, and rehabilitation, along with consultations with doctors - from neurologists and orthopedists to speech therapists and psychiatrists. The child was diagnosed with many new conditions: changes in the white matter of the brain, heart defects, cerebrospinal fluid-venous distension syndrome, delayed physical development, sensory-motor alalia, flat-valgus deformity of the feet, dysplasia of hard dental tissues, cerebral insufficiency, and ASD.
Anton is now 11 years old. He is a very agile, inquisitive, and emotional boy who loves transportation, building sets, and is interested in musical instruments. At the same time, the child's daily life is a constant struggle. Anton does not speak, cannot hold a spoon on his own, and has problems with self-care, so he needs attentive, caring care.
Thanks to ongoing corrective classes and rehabilitation courses, the boy is trying to live his little life as best he can. The ability to hold a spoon or a pen in his hands, to press a piano key with his finger, and to overcome hypotonus of the hands is a significant step forward. A better understanding of the language being addressed, the ability to pronounce words, and being understood are small victories on a long and difficult path.
Unfortunately, the number of rehabilitation classes Anton can attend now is not enough for the child's further development. The family's financial situation is difficult: Anton's mother has to care for her son alone, and his father, unfortunately, recently died. In the meantime, systematic classes with specialists are the only opportunity for the boy to move toward a full life. Please help Anton attend the next intensive rehabilitation course!
