4-YEAR-OLD OLEKSANDRA WITH AUTISM IS WORKING TO DEVELOP HER SPEECH AND DAILY LIVING SKILLS. HELP HER GET THE REHABILITATION SHE NEEDS!
Oleksandra Pasichna is an active, cheerful, and determined girl with autism spectrum disorder. Every day, she works hard to master new skills and become more independent. Sasha was born via cesarean section, weighing 3,560 g. At a young age, she barely crawled and took her first independent steps at 14 months.
At age 1, Oleksandra developed pneumonia and lost some of the skills she had already acquired. Her parents also noticed changes in her behavior, communication, and overall development. Less than a year later, she experienced another regression after a shelling attack. This triggered a speech delay and difficulties with communication, social interaction, behavior, and attention.
After comprehensive medical examinations, Oleksandra was diagnosed with childhood autism, characterized by impairments in social interaction and communication, a speech disorder, and mild cognitive impairment. She also sometimes experiences breath-holding spells. Sasha is now 4 years old, yet her psychomotor development is estimated to be at the level of a one-and-a-half-year-old.
Oleksandra requires ongoing, comprehensive rehabilitation. She works with specialists to develop her speech, communication, motor skills, and behavioral and daily living skills. Thanks to regular sessions, Sasha is learning new skills and interacting with others. That’s why it is critically important to avoid long breaks in her treatment and rehabilitation programs.
Sasha loves movement, water and swimming, music, walks, sensory games, building sets, toy cars, and musical instruments. Despite financial hardships, her family continues to work hard and seek opportunities for her development. Please help Oleksandra attend her next rehabilitation course! The goal of the project is to raise UAH 30,000 to pay for a rehabilitation course at the Olga Litvinova "Sonyashnyk" Speech Correction Center.
