Mykola Taranenko is 8 years old, but unfortunately he remains nonverbal. When he was 3, a neurologist diagnosed him with a speech delay, and subsequent medical tests, including a brain MRI, confirmed a diagnosis of childhood autism accompanied by hyperkinetic behavioral disorder and cognitive impairment.
Mykola currently faces significant challenges with self-care. He also has selective eating habits, self-harming behaviors, frequent repetitive movements (stimming), and vocalizations. Doctors believe his developmental delays and other health issues may stem from prenatal cerebral hypoxia.
As he has grown, Mykola has avoided interacting with other children, struggled to maintain eye contact, and occasionally experienced severe behavioral outbursts. Since age 7, he has regularly undergone rehabilitation, worked with a speech therapist, received massages, and taken medication.
To adjust his treatment, improve his condition, and prevent developmental regression, Mykola needs 4 rehabilitation courses each year. Unfortunately, this places a heavy financial burden on the Taranenko family. Please support Mykola! Help him access his next scheduled rehabilitation course!
