3 DECEMBER IS THE INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES. CREATING AN INCLUSIVE SOCIETY IS OUR COLLECTIVE RESPONSIBILITY!

In modern society, equality is no longer an abstract concept. In the utopian socio-political treatises of the past, it was a world where everyone had a chance to live comfortably and fulfill their dreams. In today's real world, society is gradually creating the conditions necessary for equality among citizens to be felt at all levels.

This is painstaking and multi-vector work, but it is important for society's development. From approaching standards of inclusiveness and accessibility in the urban environment to equalizing the 'general temperature' in society to the extent necessary for equality to become a widespread norm rather than an exotic exception, this is particularly important for people with disabilities.

Unfortunately, with the full-scale invasion of Russian troops into Ukraine, the number of people with disabilities is constantly increasing. War changes destinies: someone loses health and access to life's simple pleasures. But in order to preserve civil society and remain human, we have no right to remain aloof.

The challenge for public organizations, activists, and creative managers in local government is to create an inclusive society. And this is not just about ramps or lifts. It is about ensuring that every person with a disability can feel part of the community, work, study, develop, love and be needed.

Charity Exchange “DobroDiy” helps those who need it most every day. We support children who are fighting for their health and a better life, and we create opportunities for those whose path and life experience may be different and more difficult than ours.

And what can you do?

  • Give your support and attention.
  • Take part in creating an inclusive environment.
  • Donate to the needs of children with disabilities who need your help here: https://248.dp.ua/projects

Together we can change the system, break stereotypes, and build a society where equal opportunities are the norm, not the exception. Let's act together because inclusion is not just a word. It is the future we create today!
