Medication therapy as daily support: young wards of the charity exchange “DobroDIY” received essential meds!

For children with severe neurological and genetic disorders, daily medication is unfortunately not just a temporary treatment. It is the only way they can manage seizures and reduce their painful symptoms.

Drug therapy, as prescribed by doctors, is an effective way to stabilize the nervous system and promote healthy development. Thanks to your support during the first months of the year, we were able to provide two of our wards with the necessary medication.

12-year-old Nazar Myronchuk (https://248.dp.ua/news/1816) received medications and medical supplies valued at UAH 11,985.42.

Nazar has been living with difficult diagnoses since early childhood. These include cerebral palsy, spastic tetraparesis, and convulsive syndrome. He has been struggling to reach a stable condition for over ten years.

To maintain his health, Nazar consistently takes the anticonvulsant drug Sabril, the muscle relaxant Mydocalm, Depakine Chrono to stabilize his neurological condition, and Sonapax to address behavioral disorders.

Twelve-year-old Melania Kuzmina (https://248.dp.ua/projects/1795) received medication valued at UAH 10,480.39 for her postoperative recovery.

Melania was born weighing only 970 grams, and later doctors diagnosed her with cerebral palsy and spastic tetraparesis. She underwent complex hip joint surgery that involved installing titanium plates and performing a hip osteotomy.

She now requires medical care to recover from the surgeries and get ready for further treatment. Melania's mother is raising her daughter alone and battling for her health every day.
