10-YEAR-OLD ARTEM WITH MENTAL RETARDATION IS LEARNING TO SPEAK. PLEASE SUPPORT THE BOY!
The balance of unused funds in the amount of 550 hryvnias was redistributed to the project of Darya Shcherbanenko.
Artem Kirnos was born with numerous pathologies and was in a hard condition in the first days of his life. He could not breathe, suck, swallow, etc. on his own. He was discharged from the neonatal pathology department in just a month. But after his discharge, doctors, consultations and examinations did not disappear from his life.
When the boy was 3 months old, a CT scan of the brain confirmed a terrible diagnosis — a brain malformation. The baby did not sleep well and often cried. Doctors prescribed a large list of drugs.
At 8 months, the boy began to stand up next to the bed. But this skill was lost after the SARS. Artem began to walk independently at the age of 2.5 years. And at the age of 4, mental retardation was added to the main diagnosis. All this time, the child attended rehabilitation events, massages, worked with a psychologist, and a speech therapist.
From the age of 7, Artem went to a specialized kindergarten. There, the boy played with cars and a constructor, took part in performances, sang and danced. Now the boy is studying in the 3rd grade on an inclusive form of education. Mom spends all her time with her son - she assists in lessons, helps Artem with self-care.
Artem learned to count, solve simple problems, and rewrite texts. He writes dictations, however, in syllables; has a developed visual memory. Artem needs regular classes with rehabilitators. He needs to strengthen his back muscles, work on coordination of movements, and also develop speech. Please help him get to the scheduled course in July!
