14-YEAR-OLD ANYA WITH CP NEEDS ORTHOSIS FOR PHYSICAL REHABILITATION

Anya Vovkodav was born a healthy baby. However, at the age of 1.5, she suddenly stopped talking, picking up toys, and walking. It turned out that the child has a genetic disease - Rett syndrome. The family learned about the serious diagnosis only in 2020. Before that, doctors claimed that the child's pathology lies in cerebral palsy...
All her life, Anya's parents actively took care of her health: the girl regularly worked with rehabilitators, took medication, including antiepileptic drugs, and visited a massage therapist. At the age of 7, scoliosis was added to the difficult diagnoses. The disease progressed, and in 4 years the curvature of the spine reached the IV degree.
Among other complications, the progression of scoliosis caused problems with the functioning of limbs and internal organs. The girl has serious defects of the gastrointestinal tract, underwent an operation on the esophagus, eats through a gastrostomy and constantly takes medication.
Despite everything, Anya is a cheerful, smiling girl who loves to watch cartoons and play with children. Unfortunately, at the age of 14, she does not sit, does not stand, does not walk on her own and does not speak. But the family does not lose hope and fights for each new skill of their daughter.
This year, in January, the girl had a surgery - metal plates were implanted in her spine. So now the child needs regular verticalization and physical therapy classes. For this, Anya needs orthoses that will firmly hold her legs straight and help the child maintain a vertical body position, perform simple exercises, etc. The family is not able to buy them on their own. Please support the girl!
